He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in German and Spanish (with additional studies in French, Sociology, and Astronomy) from the University of Texas at Austin in 1990. He earned a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree in civil and common law from Loyola University School of Law, New Orleans in 1996, including a semester of law studies in German at the University of Vienna School of Law.

  • Revised master contract for multimillion-dollar bank loans to a Polish shipyard to construct 7 ships

  • Prepared and revised English/German/Polish versions of a major German bank's standard suretyship agreement, distributor agreements, nondisclosure agreements, and project financing agreements

  • Structured and established companies and Polish branch offices along with all pertinent documents

  • Revised clients' standard contracts to comply with international treaties and national laws

  • Supervised teams of attorneys and secretaries
